With most of her work experience is in hospital improvements as a technical architect and manager, Carina made a big change in 2019 with an opportunity to focus professional development as the Director of Talent Management at RDC-S111.
Carina has dedicated great focus to developing her skills as a technical architect, but has naturally filled leadership roles all along the way. Beginning with licensure support and community building for young architects, to volunteering as NCARB Licensing Advisor and serving as her Toastmasters Club President, Carina eventually took on official leadership roles for her firm and served as AIA Long Beach/South Bay’s chapter President in 2018-19. Carina is a strong communicator who often jumps in to help translate across stakeholder lines, and this strength has increased in value as a manager and talent leader.
While she continues to serve at AIA Long Beach South Bay, she moves into a new role in 2020 with AIA California leading the Academy of Emerging Professionals and serving on the state’s Executive Committee as well as the Communications Committee. There, she strives to bring enhanced clarity and volume of the voice of architectural talent, and increased participation with AIA California’s Academy of Emerging Professionals.
