David Fernandez is a Senior Architect at Environ Architecture, Inc. Previously, David worked at Menemsha Architects in Torrance, and as a Director with the Aptus Long Beach office where he oversaw company operations, design, and marketing efforts in southern California. As a licensed Architect with over 30 years of experience, David’s design expertise began at a young age, always drawing as a kid and admiring the design of automobiles. His pursuit of architecture began while training as a cartographer and graphic designer for the oil industry in Houston. This training allowed him to support himself through architecture school at the University of Houston.
Upon graduating, David began his career in Boston at firms focused on transportation, urban infill, public housing and landscape projects before finding his calling in commercial office and corporate interiors. Following Boston, David also practiced in South Florida, and eventually made his home in Southern California heading up the Aptus Long Beach office.
When David is able to pry himself away from his passion of architecture, he enjoys community service, volunteering and serving as board director to various non-profit associations. Currently, David serves as serve on Community Hospital, AIA LBSB, Immigrant Rights Coalition and Rainbow Lions Club Chapter board.
