Bryant Mercado, PE, CxA, CEM Senior Commissioning Agent

Bryant Mercado is a Senior Commissioning Agent and Studio Leader at P2S Inc. He is a licensed Mechanical Engineer, a Certified Commissioning Authority by the AABC Commissioning Group and a Certified Energy Manager by the Association of Energy Engineering. He began his career as a design engineer. He’s commissioned HVAC systems, Building Automation Systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and several specialty systems for projects ranging from K-12, higher education, commercial, and industrial fields.

Howard David, Associate Principal & Commissioning & O&M Market Segment Leader Certified Commissioning Professional, CCP (BCA)

David Howard is the commissioning Group Leader and Associate Principal at P2S Inc. David’s been in construction and commissioning for 32 years. He’s a Certified Commissioning Professional by the Building Commissioning Association. He served in the U.S Marines. He began his career in the general and subcontractor trades. This gives him unique hands-on experience that enhances his knowledge of building enclosure design and gives him a unique perspective on commissioning building systems.

With the new 2019 Title 24 going into effect January 1st 2020, P2S Commissioning presents a webinar on the overview of the commissioning process and the recent changes in the 2019 code. This AIA CES course is 1 hour long. The presentation details are as follows:

Title: 2019 Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards Commissioning Requirements

Background: Participants will understand when commissioning is required in California (per title 24), the Title 24 commissioning process, and the new changes in the 2019 Title 24 part 6 Commissioning Requirements

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the California Energy Code Title 24, Part 6 Cx Commissioning Process and requirements
  2. Understand core and shell building commissioning requirements. Learn what systems require commissioning and which are optional.
  3. Learn commissioning guidelines available for different project types. Learn the California Commissioning Codes (Title 24 and Cal Green).
  4. Understand the new changes in 2019 Title 24, Part 6 Cx, and how they will affect new construction projects.
