Richard D’Amato is a senior design principal for LPA INC., one of the largest fully integrated sustainable design firms in California. Joining LPA in 1987, Richard is now in the role of senior design principal providing the vision for a wide range of project types including civic centers, libraries and community centers, corporate headquarters facilities and interiors.
His passion for sustainable design and the environment has led to the design of many environmental projects such as the LEED Certified Platinum Environmental Nature Center in Newport Beach, CA. This passion has also led to a pragmatic sense of design with which he applies a varied sustainable approach to all projects regardless of scope or budget.
With over 30 years of experience, Richard has won numerous design awards and his work has been featured in may trade magazines and publications.
Mr. D’Amato has lectured on design build practices and public library design, sustainable design and progressive office design throughout the country.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Long Beach / South Bay Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, as well as Comprehensive Child Development in Long Beach California.
